Center of Analysis and Measurement of Zhejiang university was founded in 1980, which is the important base of teaching and scientific researching, one of the first setting up analytical center in the universities belongs to the Ministry of Education of China. When the four campus united in 1998, the new center rebuilt four branch parts including Yuquan, Xixi, Huajiachi and Hubing. The 80 items of precision instrument, apparatus and accessory equipment that cost $5.3 million have so far been installed in the center. Especially our university have decided to buy new instrument and apparatus that cost RMB 56 million, until now, the precision instrument which cost RMB 8 million have already installed and operated. And the second actual budget 20 million is also in the process. In the center, there is a special testing and scientific researching group, which is engaged in chemistry, physics, biology, environment, agriculture, medicine, botany, material, mechanics, mechanism, electronic techniques and so on. They analyze the interior and exterior microcosmic structure of various material; analyze the phase change; quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the components of inorganic, organic substances, polymers, biology; separate and analyze complex chemical samples; test vibration, impact and noise of various mechanic-electronic system and equipment; test the mechanic performance of materials; inspect environment; evaluate the environment impacting and so on. The center passed the technical examination for National Metrology Accreditation in November 1993, and been certificated the second time in August 1999, acquire the National (99) Z1014 certification.

The center has been contriving to provide high-quality services for teaching and scientific research of the university. For ten years or so, the center has much contributed to improve the research level of the university. At the same time ,the center gives full play to its superiority to serve the social. The center is one of designated authorized units of the Quality Supervision Bureau of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in measuring by sound level meter and vibration meter. It is also a designated unit of the Traffic Department of Zhejiang province in engineering tests of wire ropes and prestressing anchors. Besides it is a safety checking designated unit of International Airways of China in flammability, explosiveness and magnetic shield of south freight goods. It is in the forward position in China that the measuring research level of the center in material micromechanism, being micromechanism and macromolecule material. It is in the leading level in Zhejiang that checking and measuring of pharmaceutics, food, pesticides, organic substances and inorganic compounds. In past ten years or also, the center did lots of measuring and assaying for teaching and scientific research of the university and economy constructing of Zhejiang, so it was unanimous honored.

The center in-house carries out full quality control and has a complete set of scientific and canonical ensure system. It affords candid, trusty, scientific, veracious checking results for consumers. In order to provide high-quality services for the school and social and actively contribute to the development of the social economy, staffs dedicate their self to new analytic measuring technique and work hard to improve analytic measuring levels.
