More Than 7.46 Million Yuan Were Donated from Teachers and Students for the Earthquake Disaster Area

According to Labor Union, after Zhejiang University made first urgent donation to the earthquake area in the afternoon of May 14, the follow-up donation had also been sent. Up to 15:00 on May 22, the donation from teachers and students of Zhejiang University totals to more than 7.46 million yuan.

The earthquake in Sichuan Province has always been in the hearts of teachers and students of Zhejiang University. The next morning after the earthquake, Labor Union of Zhejiang University held an emergent meeting, in which people discussed the issue of donation to the Sichuan disaster area. Then the Labor Union issued a notification to all staffs calling for donates to the disaster area, which immediately got responses. All departments, schools, university hospitals and direct units organized various kinds of donation activities, in order to help people in the disaster areas.
